Devastating Palisades Fire: Compilation of Footage Captures Destruction and Heroic Efforts to Contain Blaze
"Video Credit: Front Page Index
Filmed by: Alexandra Datig
This compilation of footage from the ongoing Palisades Fire shows the catastrophic impact of the blaze and the relentless firefighting efforts to control it. The video begins with the terrifying sight of power poles engulfed in flames at Temescal and Sunset, right along Porto Marina and PCH. Homes are burning in the wind-whipped inferno, and the situation intensifies as a gas line erupts into flames. Tragically, all homes between PCH 18900 and 19640 have been destroyed.
As the fire rages on, the camera captures PCH itself on fire, with downed power lines and collapsing poles charred by the flames. Moments later, the footage transitions to a glimpse of the scene south of Malibu Pier, where the damage is severe, and the fire continues to spread.
The video concludes as the camera shifts to Malibu, where we see D'Amore’s Pizza in a shopping center near the hillside. Despite the efforts of firefighters, the fire has nearly jumped over onto the strip mall, but thanks to their swift action, it has been contained for now. Winds are still at a sustained 30+ mph, and the battle to contain the fire is far from over. This video provides a glimpse of the destruction and the courageous efforts being made to protect the community."
