At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in a stampede outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where thousands of RCB fans had gathered to welcome the team.

Dramatic footage from the scene shows chaotic moments as fans were trampled in the crush, with several injured people being rushed to ambulances. The crowd overwhelmed security arrangements, leading to panic and a deadly rush at multiple entry gates.

Police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the surging mob as the situation spiraled out of control. The injured were taken to Bowring Hospital, where many are said to be in critical condition.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had organised a felicitation ceremony inside the stadium to honour the RCB squad following their IPL win in Ahmedabad. However, the celebration took a grim turn as thousands of fans — many without valid passes — forced their way toward the venue.

Eyewitnesses described terrifying scenes, with fans climbing fences and walls in desperation. The sheer volume of the crowd led to a bottleneck situation, eventually triggering the fatal stampede.

Authorities have launched an investigation, and both the state government and KSCA have expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased.

This tragedy has cast a dark shadow over what should have been a proud and jubilant moment for the city and its cricketing heroes.
