Bungling cargo handlers smashed a car into a shipping container several times while it was being offloaded from a vessel.

Footage captured by Zoi shows the vehicle being hoisted off the watercraft with four ropes, swaying in the air due to high winds, and repeatedly hitting the freight container.

Zoi jokingly said: 'Whoever owns the car, it wasn't on purpose. It just accidentally bumped into it on its own.'

The car first hit the container from the left side, then swayed and struck it again several times before coming to rest on the platform in the city of Moroni in Comoros, east Africa.

Panicked workers were seen trying to prevent the car from hitting the freight container by pushing the ropes away, but were unsuccessful.

It remains unclear how badly the vehicle was damaged in the incident, which occurred during discharge at anchorage in Moroni on October 1.
