Helicopter crashes yards from cars on California freeway
This is the terrifying moment a helicopter crashes yards away from cars on a freeway in Sacramento, California, on Monday evening.
The Airbus H130 chopper lost control in a deadly death spiral before plunging onto the side of Highway 50 as shocked drivers watched.
Motorist Davyd Bychkoviak captured the horrifying scene on video.
Speaking exclusively to ViralPress, he said: 'I'm still shaking. It was a brush with death. The helicopter crashed inches away from me.
'The dust kicked up into my face, and I could feel the wind of the propellers in the car. If it had crashed on the road there would have been multiple fatalities.'
Officials said that three people were injured in the crash.
The Sacramento Fire Department and Federal Aviation Administration said the helicopter went down on the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near Howe Avenue. They said that it was a helicopter that provides air medical services.
Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty said: 'There has been a harrowing helicopter crash on 50 eastbound west of 59th Street.'
