A daughter who worked overseas made a surprise return home dressed as a deliveryman - sparking howls of joy from her delighted mother.

Janette Mino flew from Taipei, Taiwan, to be with her family for the holidays and posed as a courier worker when she arrived in Manila, the Philippines.

Footage shows Janette wearing a red hoodie jacket, face mask, and sunglasses to disguise herself on December 21.

She pretended to drop by a box at their home and asked her father to sign the papers.

While her siblings easily recognised her, Janette's father was surprised during the unexpected reunion.

She said: 'I did not tell anyone about me coming home for Christmas. It was a surprise vacation. I only told one of my sisters.'

Working abroad as an 'OFW', or Overseas Filipino Worker, has become deeply ingrained in the country's culture. They even have their own check-in lines and lounges at airports.

Many work in menial jobs in more developed countries while sending a chunk of their salary home to relatives in their motherland.
