Woman sneaks onto plane at busy European airport without passport or boarding pass
This is the astonishing moment a woman sneaked onto a plane at a busy European airport without a passport or boarding pass.
The serious security breach was caught on camera at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Serbia, on January 8. Local media reported that the woman boarded a flight operated by London-listed Wizzair to Malta.
Footage shows the woman crawling military-style under the glass doors of an automated passport gate, which had been installed just three weeks earlier, on December 20, in a ceremony attended by country officials.
Once on the other side, she crawls under multiple retractable security barriers.
It was only after entering the Airbus A320 single-aisle aircraft and being unable to show her boarding pass to the cabin crew waiting at the plane door that she was caught.
Security was alerted, and the suspect was detained.
Police confirmed that the Serbian woman was charged with trespassing. It was also revealed that she had arrived at the airport on a previous flight from France, where she had been deported.
The Civil Aviation Authority and airport management have launched an investigation into the security breach.
An airport spokesman said: 'Belgrade Airport is cooperating with the relevant authorities regarding this case, and while the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide any details.'
