A huge elephant knocked over a motorcycle as it wandered into a resident's yard.

The jumbo emerged from the forest with its herd and invaded the property in Yunnan, China on November 1 evening.

CCTV footage shows the Asian elephant shoving a two-wheeler with its trunk and walking through the front porch.

It appeared annoyed on a basket hanging from the roof that touched its head and shook it off.

The house owner hid inside the house while the animal caused destruction outside while looking for food.

A forest department officer said: 'The elephants were searching for food at night. We advise people to turn their lights off to avoid attracting them.'

Conservations recorded 360 elephants living in the wild in China in 2021. The majority are in Yunnan province. It marked a significant increase from the 1970s and 1980s when the population was around 150.

Conservation efforts, including strict anti-poaching measures and habitat protection, have contributed to this population growth. However, as the elephant population expands, human-elephant conflicts have intensified, necessitating ongoing conservation strategies to ensure the coexistence of humans and elephants in the region.
