Washington St, Colton, CA Sergeant Shawn McFarland Unidentified Female Adult Victim #1 Police Officer Victim #2 Police Officer 25-00781 COLTON, CA.— On February 13, 2025, at approximately 12:20 AM, officers from the Colton Police Department responded to the ARCO Gas Station, at 1240 E. Washington Street regarding multiple reports of a female armed with a knife. Witnesses reported the suspect was trying to open car doors. Upon arrival, officers contacted one of the reporting parties who advised the suspect entered his vehicle and was refusing to exit. Officers located the suspect in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Sequoia, which was parked next to the gas pumps. Officers gave the suspect multiple commands to exit the vehicle. While inside the vehicle, the suspect lit the interior of the vehicle on fire. The suspect exited the vehicle toward officers while armed with the knife. At this point an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire. Officers initiated first aid, which was continued by American Medical Response personnel. The suspect was transported to a local area hospital and remains in critical condition. The fire was extinguished by the Colton Fire Department and a knife was recovered at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Upon their arrival, one gunshot victim was located near the gas pumps of the gas station. Paramedics began to treat the victim at the scene. At least one person was transported to a local area hospital in an unknown condition. It is unclear what led up to the shooting at this time, also it is unclear if this was an officer-involved shooting, Security guard shooting, or if the suspect was a normal civilian. Evidence can be seen scattered over the pump/parking area of the arco, and a bright yellow Taser can be seen lying on the ground in the pump area. The Taser was deployed as you can see the wires stretched out in front of the taser. Also, life-saving medical equipment can be seen lying on the ground in the pump area of the Arco gas station. Arco is closed while officers conduct there investigation into the shooting Officers are not releasing any information at this time on the shooting. Colton Police Department is the handling agency along with Colton Fire Department
