Workers cleared accumulated snow from an airport in Canada.

Ground crews tirelessly removed 19.2 cm of powder with over 100 pieces of specialized equipment at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario, on February 17 at 11 am.

Timelapse footage shows snowploughs sweeping the snow from the runways, taxiways, and apron at Terminal 3.

Some of the machines can be seen scooping tons of snow from the pavement and dumping it into trucks.

Toronto Pearson said: 'Since the first snowflakes fell yesterday around 10:30 am, we've accumulated 19.2 cm of snow, bringing our total to over 60 cm since last weekend.

'Crews are out clearing the roughly 5 million square metres (about the size of 3,300 NHL rinks) as the snow continues to fall.

'At the airport, we have three fixed melters and three portable melters to help keep critical areas clear of snow,' they added.

Approximately 65 per cent of Canada's landmass is covered in snow for more than six months of the year. Winter storms are common across the country and can include heavy snowfall, blizzards, blowing snow, freezing rain, ice storms, wind chills, and extreme cold temperatures.
