Jeannie Leigh, the adorable primate, was spotted perching on top of her young owner, seemingly checking for lice, in Mandalay, Myanmar on February 10.
Footage shows the primate inspecting each strand while the youngster stands still.
It can be seen picking out dirt and insects from her hair and eating them.
The encounter sparked laughter among locals witnessing the animal's behaviour.
Monkeys are naturally curious animals and may be intrigued by the texture and appearance of human hair. Grooming can also be a sign of affection and care, indicating that the monkey feels comfortable and secure with the person.
