STORYLINE:
The 6th Happy Chinese New Year film festival opened Tuesday evening at the National Center for Creativity in Valletta, Malta.
The festival, co-hosted by the China Cultural Center in Malta and the China Film Archive, will run until March 4.
The first film, "One and Only," received prolonged applause from the audience. David Michael Schembri, mayor of Qrendi in southern Malta, said that the enthusiastic audience reaction reflected the film's artistic appeal.
Three more Chinese films, namely Pegasus 2, and Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms, and Yolo, will be screened.
