This is the moment a taxi driver allegedly attacked a motorcycle rider in a road rage incident in Thailand.

Footage shows the two men rolling on the ground as they scuffled on a traffic island in Bangkok, on February 22. Other drivers later intervened and separated the pair.

A passenger who declined to be named said: 'I was sitting in the back of the taxi. The motorcycle rider kept calling out to the driver, complaining for cutting ahead of him. The taxi driver didn't respond, but the rider didn't stop cursing at him.

'When we were at a U-turn slot, the rider kicked the taxi, so the driver finally lost his temper and attacked him as seen in the video.'

Road rage incidents are common in Thailand, which has one of the world's worst road safety records due to chronic underinvestment in its highways and education.

In January, Seree Srettheenamwong, 31, reportedly slammed his car into food delivery man Ritthisak Prakuptanont, 49, killing him when he slammed into an electric pole along Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

The two reportedly quarrelled after Seree allegedly bumped into Ritthisak's motorcycle. Seree faces charges of premeditated murder and reckless driving causing death.
