On February 28, 2025, in Jiangsu, located in eastern China, a video captured two elderly women demonstrating a rare and intricate embroidery technique.

Sitting on opposite sides of the same fabric, they stitched entirely different patterns within the same outline—one creating a black-and-white puppy and the other a golden snub-nosed monkey.

This traditional craft, known as "three-way embroidery," is characterized by variations in color, shape, and stitching techniques. It is an intangible cultural heritage, but the number of artisans skilled in this technique is rapidly declining.
