A robot was seen warming up like a human for a marathon race.

The humanoid runner was preparing to compete in the world's first robot half marathon in the country on April 13.

Footage shows the droid jogging on the pavement with its operator following behind. Another worker in an orange jacket can be seen adjusting its support.

In another clip, the robot is spotted sprinting on an empty road.

The machine was developed by a company backed by Dreame Technology.

The robots will have three and a half hours to finish, with battery swaps allowed—or even relay-style replacements. However, each switch incurs a 10-minute penalty.

Human and animal-like robots are being developed in several countries, with China and the United States leading the 'tech arms race.'

Earlier this month, a military-style robot dog was even spotted protecting President-Elect Donald Trump in Florida.

Meanwhile, eccentric billionaire Elon Musk—who played a key role in Trump's recent U.S. election victory—recently unveiled Optimus, describing it as a multi-functional assistant capable of handling household chores, playing with children, and performing repetitive tasks.
