Debris falls from 31-storey building sending residents fleeing as earthquake hits China-Myanmar border

At 2:20 p.m. Beijing time on March 28, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, causing strong tremors in Ruili City, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, near the China-Myanmar border.

Surveillance footage shows that a 31-story building in Ruili Wealth Plaza suffered severe damage, with large amounts of bricks and debris falling to the ground as residents fled in panic.

The exact number of casualties is still being assessed.
