A man on the 56th floor of the Politan Rive Condo complex in Bangkok filmed dramatic scenes of water cascading from a rooftop pool as the building swayed during a powerful earthquake.

Jason Lucas, 49, initially thought he was unwell but soon realised the entire structure was moving. "I thought I was having a funny turn," Lucas said."

"Then the guy beside me got up and said the building was swaying. I looked to my right and saw water cascading from the pool, so I decided to film."

The 7.7 magnitude quake struck central Myanmar on 28 March, killing at least 144 people and injuring over 700.

A state of emergency has been declared in Myanmar, while search teams in Bangkok are looking for 81 missing workers after a high-rise collapse.

Rescue operations are ongoing.
