An eccentric mechanic transformed his bed into a moving car.

Nawab Sheikh, 27, built the fully functional 'bed-car' during Eid and proudly paraded it on the roads of Berhampore, India, on April 2.

Footage shows the inventor comfortably lounging on the bed while driving, with friends filming him from the backseat.

The four-wheeler features a steering wheel, brakes, rearview mirrors, and a full-sized bed complete with a mattress, pillows, and a colourful bedsheet.

Nawab shared that he spent over a year and INR 200,000 (approximately 1,900 GBP) to bring his vision to life. He sourced mechanical parts from a local workshop and hired a carpenter to build a 5ft by 7ft bed frame to fit on the vehicle's structure.

He said: 'I sold my wife Meher Naear's jewellery to fund my passion project. I had only one mission, and that is to go viral.'

However, his stunt caused a traffic jam on the Raninagar-Domkal state highway, prompting the police to intervene.

Authorities ordered him to remove his ‘bed-on-wheels' from the main roads due to congestion and safety concerns.
