Lastapol Pongpanna and his family were travelling home when a grey pickup truck suddenly swerved into the opposite lane in Chonburi, Thailand.

Footage shows the quick-thinking motorist immediately slamming the brakes, narrowly avoiding a collision with the bungling trucker on April 9.

Shaken by the close call, Lastapol briefly stopped in the middle of the road to check on his passengers before continuing the journey.

The stunned driver urged others to stay alert behind the wheel, especially when travelling with loved ones, adding that the incident was particularly frightening as he had a pregnant woman in the car at the time.
