The motorist was driving through a residential area when the youngster darted in front of him in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on September 15.
CCTV footage shows how the white vehicle swerved just in time to avoid the youngster, whose stunned grandmother could only scream as she saw the car miss the child by mere inches.
The panicked guardian ran to scoop up the boy as the car driver emerged and warned them to be careful.
