This is the shocking moment a bridge in China collapsed after a devastating fire.

Footage shows the Chaobai River Bridge crumbling into the water below after a blaze engulfed its structure in Shunyi, Beijing, on April 23.

The fire caused the bridge's roadway to disintegrate, sending debris crashing into the river beneath. Thick, black smoke can be seen emitting from the wreckage and billowing into the air.

Local authorities, including teams from transportation, fire protection, and traffic management departments, reportedly rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.

No casualties were reported.

The Chaobai River Bridge, built in 1999 and spanning 2,100 ft (640.22 m), was a critical link between Beijing, Shunyi, and Pinggu.

The bridge had long been a vital connector, linking both sides of the Chaobai River in Shunyi District.
