On April 24th, 2025; at approximately 1900hrs, the Coal Township Fire Department responded to a working fire on Mohawk Street.

Chief 200, who was nearby, rapidly confirmed a working fire with visible smoke emanating from the middle of a row.

A second alarm was subsequently struck shortly after, while prompting crews to temporarily exit the building due to safety concerns.

As firefighting efforts continued, a mayday was declared on the roof of one of the structures, reporting a firefighter down.

The firefighter is expected to make a full recovery, primarily suffering from heat exhaustion. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
