This is the terrifying moment a billboard was blown off a building during a violent storm in China.

Footage shows the massive signboard collapsing in a parking area in Shizuishan, Ningxia, on April 14, amid strong gusts of wind.

The advertisement sign can be seen caving in from its steel frame and crashing onto the street below, dragging the girders with it.

One man can be seen standing under the falling billboard, prompting him to run for his life to avoid being crushed.

City building safety officials have reportedly launched an investigation into the collapse.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Experts said that certain regions in the country have been experiencing more frequent and intense freak storms, including tornadoes, heavy rainstorms, and strong winds, attributed to climate change.
