Temur, the Central Florida Zoo’s male Amur leopard, recently showed off his agility and curiosity during a classic enrichment activity: exploring a cardboard box. With expert precision, he investigated the hidden treats and then effortlessly leapt to his perch—highlighting the incredible power and grace of his species.

Amur leopards are among the most athletic big cats, capable of jumping up to 19 feet horizontally and 10 feet vertically. Temur’s graceful leap was a perfect example of the strength these endangered cats possess in the wild.

Enrichment activities like this help keep zoo animals mentally and physically stimulated, while also offering guests a chance to witness amazing natural behaviors up close.
