Pagosa Springs, United States - May 05, 2025 An osprey was successfully rescued on May 5, 2025, after getting tangled in bailing twine on an artificial nest platform south of Pagosa Springs. The bird had become stuck while using the twine for nesting material and was found hanging upside down. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) called on Laplata Electric Association (LPEA) for assistance in rescuing the bird. Nate Bryant from LPEA skillfully used a lift truck to reach the osprey, dodging the bird's razor-sharp talons during the delicate operation. Thanks to Bryant's efforts, the osprey was freed and flew away safely. The teamwork displayed in the rescue was praised, and Bryant was awarded the title of CPW Junior Wildlife Officer for his role. CPW also thanked Nate Martinez for helping coordinate the rescue, ensuring that the osprey would live to see another day.
