KEMPTVILLE, Ontario — Constable Dave Holmes of the Grenville Ontario Provincial Police’s Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge this week to raise awareness for children’s mental health.

The challenge, issued by a local business, recognized the MCRT as a “champion of change, education and awareness” during Mental Health Week. Holmes completed the challenge with support from the North Grenville Fire Service, which was also nominated to participate next.

Additional nominations were extended to Principal Johnston of South Grenville District High School and OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Lisa Nicholas.

The initiative aims to spark conversation and promote access to mental health support. Those in crisis are encouraged to call 9-8-8 or download the Connex Ontario app for local resources.
