Montana Firefighters Brave Storm for Ice Bucket Challenge—Watch Until the End
ROBERTS, Mont. — Firefighters from Roberts Rural Fire District 6 completed the Ice Bucket Challenge in the middle of a thunderstorm to raise awareness for mental health on International Firefighters’ Day.
The department was nominated by Red Lodge Fire and didn’t let the storm stop them from answering the call. Video of the challenge shows lightning flashing in the distance and rain falling as firefighters dumped cold water over themselves to support mental health awareness.
Roberts Fire then passed the challenge on to Fromberg Fire, Bridger Fire and Belfry Fire, encouraging continued support and visibility for mental health issues in the fire service and beyond.
The department acknowledged the dramatic weather, but added, “We never back down from a challenge.”
