US, Los Angeles: Downey Driver Rear Ends Tow Truck At High Speeds Trapping One
Los Angeles, United States - May 10, 2025 05/09/2025 11:14 pm GMT-0700 DOWNEY, Calif. – Authorities responded to a traffic collision at the Lakewood Boulevard and Gallatin Road intersection. The Downey Police Department, Downey Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department's Urban Search and Rescue unit were dispatched to the scene, where one person was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the trapped individual. It is currently unknown whether the driver of the tow truck involved in the collision sustained any injuries. Additionally, investigators have not yet determined if speed or alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. As a precautionary measure, Downey police closed Lakewood Boulevard in both directions while the crash is under investigation.
