A giant watermelon stunned a gardener in Inner Mongolia.

Footage shows the astonishing 108 lbs (49 kg) fruit being cut in half with a knife.

The watermelon revealed vibrant red flesh and a thin rind.

The farmer said: 'It was a massive harvest, and when we tasted it, it was so juicy.'

The world record for the heaviest watermelon is 350.5 lbs (159 kg), grown by Chris Kent of Sevierville, Tennessee, in 2013.
