-PRISTINA, KOSOVO - MAY 20, 2025: The streets of Pristina, Kosovo, have been overrun with litter following a strike by the city's waste management company, Pastrimi, amid a financial dispute with the municipality. Footage from May 20shows garbage overflowing from containers and strewn across sidewalks and streets. The strike began last week after Pastrimi workers walked off the job, citing the Pristina Municipality’s failure to pay a €2.7 million debt. According to the company, the unpaid sum threatens the ability to cover workers’ salaries and maintain garbage collection vehicles.
