Excitable leopard wants to play with Bengal cat in China
This is the amusing moment an excitable leopard wanted to play with a Bengal cat in China.
Holidaymakers visited Panzhihua Park Zoo in Sichuan, bringing along their pet cat, Fu Bao Bao.
They approached the predator's enclosure, where they encountered the visibly curious leopard on May 26.
Footage shows Fu Bao Bao on a leash in front of the glass panel, letting out a fearful meow as the beast approaches from the other side.
The wild animal is seen pawing at the transparent barrier and opening its mouth, seemingly trying to bite the visibly terrified cat.
The Bengal's owners can be heard laughing at the encounter.
Experts said this kind of behaviour is typical of big cats, which are often drawn to smaller animals due to their natural instincts.
Leopards are highly territorial and curious. When faced with unfamiliar animals—even behind a barrier—they may show playful or predatory behaviour, such as pawing or pacing.
In captivity, these reactions can be amplified by boredom or overstimulation from outside stimuli.
