An unruly passenger has pleaded guilty to assaulting officers from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Miami International Airport.

CCTV footage shows the traveller, identified as Cameron Dylan McDougall, attacking a TSA officer before another staff member intervenes, causing Cameron to fall to the floor.

Even while on the ground, he continued swinging at the security personnel on December 28, just a day after he was removed from a flight.

Local media reported that the violent passenger had physically struck another traveller while aboard a Copa Airlines flight from Panama City to Toronto on December 27.

The altercation prompted the pilot to divert the plane to Miami.

Authorities confirmed that Cameron was pulled from the aircraft but was not arrested at the time. He was instead advised that he could book another flight with a different airline.

While at the airport, Cameron allegedly struck another passenger without warning after clearing security.

He then assaulted a security guard who tried to defuse the situation before returning to the screening area and throwing punches at a TSA supervisor, as captured in the surveillance footage.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the altercation.

Cameron was later arrested and pleaded guilty on May 19 in federal court to two counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees. He faces up to one year in prison for each count.

In addition, Cameron also faces state charges in connection with the incident.
