This is the terrifying moment a pedestrian fled as a scaffolding collapsed onto a pavement in China.

Footage shows the woman walking along the roadside when she suddenly sprinted away from the falling structure in Yuzhong District, Chongqing.

In another clip, several men can be seen pushing the metal frame out of the walkway outside the Jiaochangkou Trust Building on May 28.

Local media reported that two residents sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Following the collapse, the Yuzhong District Emergency Management Bureau, along with housing, construction, health departments, and the local sub-district office, responded swiftly for rescue and clean-up efforts.

Authorities confirmed that traffic had returned to normal, while the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
