On May 30, a home security camera in Jiangsu Province, China, captured a terrifying moment when a young girl was playing with a hydrogen balloon, and it suddenly exploded behind her, producing a loud bang and flash of fire that startled both the child and her family.

The girl’s mother explained that some of her daughter’s hair at the back of her head was singed and she was frightened, but fortunately, she was otherwise unharmed. The mother suspects that static electricity from the girl's clothing may have triggered the explosion. She added that they were lucky it wasn’t more serious and that they will no longer bring such toys into the home.
