Bakersfield, United States - June 06, 2025 06/06/2025 10:36 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Kern County Fire Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vegetation fire at the Lamont Nursery, located in the 7500 block of Weedpatch Highway. The blaze spread rapidly, causing significant damage, including the destruction of a building, multiple palm trees, an RV, and farming equipment. Firefighters had to shuttle water from the nearest fire hydrant to combat the flames. It remains unknown whether there were any injuries related to the incident. The Kern County Sheriff’s Department, along with the California Highway Patrol, is managing traffic control in the area while the fire's cause is still under investigation.
