The commemoration of Eid al-Adha, which is carried out every year by Muslims around the world, is not just about the ritual of carrying out the Hajj pilgrimage, which is carried out by millions of people in the Holy Land.

More than that, Eid al-Adha is also a moment that some people have been waiting for. Because, after performing the Eid al-Adha prayer, Muslims are encouraged to slaughter cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep.

The command to sacrifice is a sign of love, a spirit of mutual cooperation, sincerity, and sharing with others. It's no wonder that the Eid al-Adha celebration is always a day that is always eagerly awaited.

However, the atmosphere that should be filled with joy is often also filled with sadness from some people who do not receive the sacrificial meat. In general, the sacrificial committee gives a coupon bearing a number stamped with a wet stamp as a sign that someone is entitled to receive sacrificial meat.

However, in practice we still often find people who should be entitled to receive sacrificial meat or be included in the recipient quota who actually have to bite their fingers because they don't get the sacrificial meat. This could happen because one recipient received two packages of sacrificial meat.

"Previously, they only used cards and then stamped the Musholla, just the name of the Musholla and the stamp, right? But because there was a lot of fraud, and we didn't know where the fraud was, that's why we used this, especially as this was a discussion with the community here," said a resident of Balai Jariang, Ernita in Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra, Saturday (7/6).

The feelings are mixed. Sad in the midst of the Eid al-Adha celebration, which should be filled with laughter with family while eating rendang. However, last year he was filled with disappointment and sadness.

Now, with the presence of SmartQurban, which is an application-based innovation, Ernita and other residents no longer feel anxious. This is because the distribution of sacrificial meat is distributed right on target using a bar code scanning mechanism.

In line with Ernita, Maya Sari admitted that using SmartQurban really helped the community. This application, which was born from the idea of young people from Payakumbuh City, has proven to be effective and efficient and prevents someone from receiving twice the sacrificial meat.

"Because at that time many people didn't get sacrificial meat, a solution was found to overcome this problem. So this year everyone agreed to use this program, which was assisted by using a QR code, although not yet implemented by the entire community," said Maya Sari, a local resident, Saturday (7/6).

The founder of the SmartQurban application and CEO of GoBook Softindo, Allan Prima Aulia, said that the idea for this innovation was born from the problems that people often experience when distributing sacrificial meat.

Several years earlier, many people in their hometowns did not receive distribution of sacrificial meat even though they were registered as recipients.

This website-based application uses a barcode scanning mechanism so that the committee can easily and immediately identify whether someone is entitled to receive sacrificial meat or not.

The way it works is also quite easy. People who have previously been given white paper coupons containing bar codes simply hand them over to the committee to be scanned using smartphones.

Later, the results of the scan using a smartphone will display data on recipients of sacrificial meat, making it easier for the committee and preventing data duplication.

"The SmartQurban concept itself, we are trying to solve the problem of qurbani, where the main problem in implementing qurbani is duplicate coupons or duplication of coupons; then it is difficult to monitor which coupons have been exchanged or not. So the approach taken by SmartQurban uses a QR code to identify unique codes, which coupons have been exchanged and which ones have not, and then also prevent duplication of coupons," said the founder of the SmartQurban application, Allan Prima Aulia, Saturday (7/6).

"If there are one, two, or three sacrificial cows and there are not many sacrificial coupons, perhaps identifying the problem is easier. However, if, for example, the sacrificial committee organizes a very large number of sacrifices and lots of coupons, then digitalization makes all of that easier, especially in monitoring and in real time," explained Allan.

Currently, the application, which has just been tested at one location, can accommodate or be used by 1,500 beneficiaries of sacrificial meat.

In the long term, Allan plans to expand the use of SmartQurban more widely so that it can be accessed by the public via Android and iOS.

He also did not rule out the possibility of this application being used by local governments, especially for distributing sacrificial meat on Eid al-Adha 2026.

In implementing it, Allans saw that SmartQurban received a positive response from the community. It's just that adjustments still need to be made, especially changing the mindset of the community and sacrificial committees, which initially still used conventional methods to switch to digitalization.
