This is the shocking moment an angry cow headbutted a farmer in revenge because he repeatedly struck her.

CCTV footage shows the herder hitting the brown bovine on the head with a metal scraper while bathing the cattle in East Java, Indonesia.

Moments later, as he turned his back to tend to another animal, the enraged heifer suddenly charged and rammed into his back on April 28.

Startled by the attack, the man immediately ran away from the cow and glanced back before spraying it with water.

The farmhand did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

He said: 'I learned my lesson. I have been more respectful to the cows since this incident.'

Heifers, like other cattle, are generally docile but can become aggressive if they feel threatened, stressed, or are in pain.

Cattle also have strong memories and may respond aggressively to perceived mistreatment, particularly if cornered or unable to escape.
