A Sumatran tiger gave birth to two healthy cubs at Kinantan Wildlife and Culture Park in Indonesia.

Footage from June 21 shows the cubs named Rizki and Lestri cuddling up to their mother Mantagi who gave birth to them on May 3.

A pair of West Sumatran tigers were born again in the Kinantan Wildlife and Culture Park (TMSBK) Bukittinggi. However, a sad fact has occurred, because tigers in the world, especially the Sumatran tiger with the Latin name Phantera Tigris Sumatrae, continue to be threatened. Conflict with humans, poaching and habitat loss are major challenges that we must face.

Therefore, every birth of a tiger baby is a gift and hope for conservation efforts. This is a reminder that we can protect tigers for future generations.

The naming was carried out simultaneously with the signing of the certificate by Titiek Suharto, witnessed by the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni and the Mayor of Bukittinggi, Ramlan Nurmatias.

The pair of tiger cubs were born from a male parent, Bujang Mandeh, and a female parent named Mantagi. The birth took place on May 3, 2025.

The team of doctors said the birth process took place normally. The two Sumatran tiger cubs are also in good condition.
