Doha airport was thrown into chaos after Qatar abruptly shut down its airspace following an Iranian missile strike on a US military base.

Footage shows a crowd of stranded passengers waiting inside Hamad International Airport as flight operations came to a standstill on June 24.

FlightRadar24 reported that approximately 250 flights were cancelled at the airport in the wake of the airstrikes.

The incident comes as tensions continue to rise following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets on Friday, June 13. The Israeli military said that Iran had launched a counterattack involving more than 100 drones.

The United States entered the conflict between the two countries with American warplanes and submarines targeting at least three facilities in Iran early Sunday.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has vowed to retaliate for the US strikes.

Although President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, deadly attacks continued in both countries.

In the 10 days since the conflict began, Israeli airstrikes have resulted in at least 400 deaths and 3,000 injuries inside Iran, based on figures released by Iran's health ministry. Iran's retaliatory attacks have left at least 24 dead in Israel.
