Bradenton, Florida – A boating trip turned unforgettable for a local family on Sunday when twin waterspouts suddenly appeared on the Manatee River.

Jeni Scheid, 41, captured the stunning moment on video. She was out on the water with her husband D.J., a friend, and other family members when dark clouds began to gather.

As heavy rain started to fall, they turned back toward the dock. Then D.J. noticed something strange—water churning just 200 feet from their boat.

“That’s going to be a waterspout,” he said.

Moments later, two swirling funnels stretched down from the clouds, forming side by side and drawing gasps from the group.

“It looked like something from a movie,” Jeni said.

The waterspouts drifted slowly and stayed over water, never posing a direct threat. Unlike tornadoes, they carried no flying debris, which calmed some of the fear.

After returning to shore, the Scheids learned others had spotted the massive funnels from miles away.

The twin spouts were part of a broader weather event, which also produced a single waterspout earlier in Tampa Bay.

No injuries or damage were reported.

The National Weather Service reminds boaters that waterspouts, though beautiful, can be just as dangerous as tornadoes. Avoid them at all costs.
