VARIOUS OF SMOKE RISING FROM HIGH-RISE BUILDING / FIREFIGHTING TEAMS AT SCENEBERLIN, GERMANY - JUNE 30, 2025: A fire broke out on the top floor of a high-rise building under construction in Berlin, just 250 meters from the headquarters of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), causing panic in the area. More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire in the high-rise building located at the corner of Kurfürsten Street and Schill Street. During the fire, three loud explosions were heard, believed to have been caused by gas cylinders used in the construction. Due to the fire, surrounding streets were closed to traffic, causing heavy traffic congestion. Authorities have not yet provided information on the cause of the fire or whether there are any injuries or casualties.
