This is the terrifying moment a plane balanced on a single wheel while landing during a storm in Indonesia.

Footage shows the aircraft operated by Batik Air approaching the runway at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta on June 28 amid heavy rain and strong winds.

The aircraft's wing and engine can be seen coming dangerously close to the tarmac as the Boeing 737, registered PK-LDJ, touched down on Saturday afternoon.

Airline officials confirmed that the landing was conducted in accordance with standard aviation safety procedures.

They said that a sudden increase in crosswind speed occurred during the aircraft's final approach, although the wind direction remained stable.

Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Corporate Communications Strategic at Batik Air, said: 'The wind direction did not change, but its speed increased. We need to convey that in terms of the wind speed limitation, nothing was violated, so the plane remained in a safe condition to land.'

A technical inspection was carried out immediately after the incident, and authorities confirmed that no damage was found.

The plane was declared safe and fit to continue operations.

Danang added: 'Batik Air emphasises that flight safety and security are the main priorities in every operation, and we continue to be committed to implementing procedures according to applicable flight safety standards.'
