This is the heart-stopping moment huge tree branches crashed down onto a passing car during a storm in Thailand.

Dashcam footage captured a vehicle driving along a road in Bangkok as a thunderstorm began, followed by light rain.

Trees were seen swaying heavily, with leaves falling off as strong winds blew through the area.

As the driver navigated the road, a monobloc chair was swept away by strong winds, narrowly missing her car and striking a taxi to her right instead.

Moments later, a large tree branch suddenly snapped off and came crashing down directly in front of her vehicle. She slammed on the brakes just in time, letting out a scream of shock.

The branch did not hit her car, and no injuries were reported on June 29.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rainstorms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
