A pair of escaped buffalo caused carnage as they fled a fighting ring in Indonesia.

Chaotic footage shows the beasts chasing each other as they bolted from the arena in Sadan District, South Sulawesi, on June 30.

A group of men were seen pursuing them, apparently in an attempt to regain control.

The bulls even leapt onto parked motorcycles, knocking them over and causing visible damage.

Eyewitness Ampulembang said: 'I was shocked when the two buffalo came out. I immediately secured myself the moment I saw them. I was really scared.'

It remains unclear how the duo were captured, but authorities confirmed no injuries resulted from the incident.

Buffalo fighting is a traditional practice in parts of South Sulawesi, particularly among the Torajan people, where it is often held during cultural or funeral ceremonies. The creatures are not fought to the death but are made to clash horns in displays of strength and dominance.
