Police released aerial footage of the UPS plane crash aftermath in Kentucky.

Newly obtained video shows thick black smoke towering near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport on November 4, around 5:45 pm local time.

Authorities said the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft crashed into a community at the edge of the airport, killing 15 people and injuring at least 23 others.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the accident occurred when ‘the left-hand engine and pylon detached from the wide-body aeroplane during takeoff', adding that the cause remains under investigation.

The cargo airline operates its global hub at the airport.

Fires from the crash were fully extinguished by 11 pm after more than six hours of work by over 100 first responders.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing said there were around 70 MD-11s operated by the UPS, FedEx, and Western Global.
