US, Phoenix: Phoenix 2 Injured in 1st Alarm Apartment Fire

Phoenix, United States - July 06, 2025 07/05/2025 10:24 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of an apartment fire near the 5000 block of North 17th Avenue. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames billowing from a 2nd floor apartment unit. The assignment was upgraded to a 1st alarm due to the severity of the blaze and potential for fire extension to neighboring apartment units. Per the battalion chief in command, two victims were transported to local area hospitals. One victim is an unidentified adult with extensive burn injuries, transported to the Abrazo Burn Center. The second victim is an unidentified adult, transported to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation-related injuries. At least two apartment units have been affected by the fire. The exact number of displaced occupants has yet to be confirmed. The scene was handed over to Phoenix Fire investigators to determine the origin of the fire.
