This is the lively moment locals celebrated the start of the Pamplona bull run in Spain.

Footage captured by Ruben shows the streets filled with joyful residents marking the beginning of the San Fermin Festival on July 6.

Ruben said: 'San Fermin is amazing, what an incredible day yesterday, already looking forward to coming back next year.'

A statue of a bull was seen being paraded down the street, sending out sparks as onlookers cheered.

The festival officially began at noon on Sunday and will continue until midnight on July 14, opening with a spectacular fireworks display.

Locals said the highlight of the event is the daily running of the bulls, which takes place every morning at 8 am.

The San Fermin Festival is a traditional celebration held annually in Pamplona, Spain. It honours Saint Fermin, the city's patron saint, and is well-known worldwide for the adrenaline-fuelled 'encierro' or bull runs through the streets, along with parades, music, and cultural events.
