This is the touching moment a policeman staged a heartwarming surprise proposal at a force parade.

Paul Cereno proposed to his long-term partner, Cynthia Tejada, after the police graduation ceremony in Oriental Mindoro, the Philippines.

Footage shows one of the patrolmen pretending to take a picture of the couple while Paul's colleagues positioned themselves behind them, each holding a rose on June 20.

They then kneeled in a line, looking up at Cynthia, while two other officers carried a banner.

Moments later, the unsuspecting woman struck a pose with her friends as Paul quietly kneeled behind her, holding an engagement ring.

After the photo was taken, she was told to turn around and saw her boyfriend of 11 years standing there, holding the jewelry out to her.

The sight immediately made Cynthia emotional, and she held her hands to her mouth in shock.

Paul asked if he could marry her causing her to burst in tears before saying yes.

They then embraced each other before dozens of policemen gave a bouquet and single flowers to Cynthia.

Cynthia said: 'I used to just watch moments like this. Now I'm the one in the situation, where without hesitation I gave you the ‘yes' you were waiting for, the easiest ‘yes' I've ever said in my life.

'I would like to thank my sisters Melissa Brantingham and Joy Carandang, as well as my partner's colleagues for helping Paul with the proposal.'

Melissa Brantingham, Paul's sister, recalled that the couple been through a lot of ups and downs and waited until they reached their goals together.

She added: 'I remember when they were in college, they would bring rice to the canteen and ask for soup, so they'd have something in their stomachs. When they graduated, my brother was always there to accompany her to get her degree in Education.'
