Bakersfield, United States - July 09, 2025 07/09/2025 10:00 am GMT-0700 Ruidoso NM – RUIDOSO, New Mexico – Heavy flooding struck the area yesterday evening, forcing the Ruidoso River to rise to at least 20 feet and breach its banks. Reports indicate that multiple homes, vehicles, and debris were swept away in the flash flood. Tragically, at least three people have been declared deceased, including two children. Rescue efforts are currently underway, with personnel from the New Mexico National Guard assisting in traffic control throughout the region. The affected area is closed to the public as rescuers work to search through the devastation. Authorities have not confirmed how many people might be missing, nor is the full extent of the damage clear at this time.
