This is the hilarious moment a beluga whale startled a girl visiting an aquarium in China.

The playful sea creature was spotted interacting with the toddler during their trip to Quancheng Ocean and Polar World in Dezhou, Shandong.

Footage shows the little girl standing in front of the tank, watching the animal gracefully swim by on June 1.

Moments later, the playful whale suddenly turned towards her, making a shocking gesture by opening its mouth as if trying to eat her, causing the visibly shaken youngster to cry.

The frantic child can be seen averting her gaze from the beluga, which remained with its mouth wide open.

She then crumpled to the ground, causing her mother to pick her up and comfort her.

Beluga whales are known for their friendly and curious nature. They often engage in playful interactions, making them a favourite among marine enthusiasts.
