...STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JULY 19, 2025: Israel’s bombings of schools and hospitals in Gaza were protested in Stockholm, Sweden, on Saturday, July 19. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the Odenplan district and marched toward the Swedish Parliament. During the protest, participants carried banners reading: “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” “Stop the genocide,” and “Palestine forever.” The protesters chanted slogans such as “Murderer Israel, get out of Palestine,” “Murderer Netanyahu, get out of Gaza,” and “Immediate and unconditional ceasefire,” as they waved Palestinian flags and demanded an end to the genocide in Gaza and the intensifying Israeli attacks in recent days. Swedish activist Lasse Eriksson, who participated in the protest, told Anadolu reporter that the genocide Israel is carrying out against Palestine is unprecedented in the world. Eriksson emphasized the immense suffering in Palestine and said that, according to a Swedish research company, 75% of Swedes do not approve of what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza. Despite these statistics, Sweden does not have a single party in Parliament that strongly opposes Israel. The Swedish activist stated that Swedes should boycott Israel, expel the Israeli ambassador in Stockholm, and fill the streets in protest. Eriksson argued that if Palestinian children are being killed today, tomorrow it could be their own children, and the day after, the children of Iran.
